After a semester in Zielona Góra as an Erasmus student, Zurabi is back home, in Tbilisi. Here are a few words from Zura.
"Hello, I am Zurabi Ugulava, a student from Free University of Tbilisi who had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ exchange program at the University of Zielona Góra. Over the past four months, I had the privilege to engage in a variety of activities, not limited to my field of studies, physics, but also at the music department of the
host institution.
Engaging in both physics and music activities was a truly balancing experience. I had the pleasure of discussing various scientific works in solid-state physics and material science, which broadened my view about modern advances in proposed fields and their industrial applications. Simultaneously, participating in workshops with world-class jazz musicians Andy Middleton and Jeremy Pelt provided invaluable insights into comping and rhythmic and harmonic modulation. This huge contrast between my academic and artistic passion, further ignited my curiosity and motivation each day.
Interacting with fellow students and faculty members from both the physics and music departments was a highlight of my Erasmus experience. The exchange of ideas and perspectives deepened my appreciation for diversity of thought and culture, empowering me to express my persona as an individual.
In conclusion, my Erasmus+ exchange experience has been incredibly fulfilling and transformative. The opportunity to participate in diverse activities, both within my field of study and beyond, has broadened my horizons, enriched my education, and fostered personal growth. I am immensely grateful for the unforgettable experiences and lasting connections forged during my time abroad."
